His love of music will live on in the hearts of other children
Our lives were forever changed when we lost our son Stephan at the young age of twenty four. Every year in an effort to pay tribute to our son, we remember the love of Stephan and his never ending devotion to music. In an effort to preserve his memory and pay tribute to Stephan, his family created a non-profit foundation. The main purpose of this organization is to provide critical funds to music programs and the students that they serve.
Stephan attended Palm Beach Public Elementary, BAK Middle School of the Arts and continued through High School at Dreyfoos School of the arts. He was an exceptionally talented vocalist who won many state awards as a Tenor. Singing was not his only forte! Stephan also played the guitar and piano and excelled in all kinds of sports. He also demonstrated exquisite culinary skills. He was a well rounded, loving young man whose life was cut way too short. In an effort to positively influence other students, we have held a night entitled "An Evening for Stephan" to honor his life and give all of those who loved Stephan an evening to pay tribute to him and his love of music.
Funds raised from the event "An Evening for Stephan" have been used to purchase violins, clarinets, bass guitars and amplifiers. These funds have also been used to fund school sponsored trips for tournaments and purchase band jackets for young musicians who demonstrate a love of music much like our beautiful son, Stephan. Our fundraising efforts have assisted schools such as Wellington High, Suncoast High, Palm Beach Lakes High, Southbridge High School, and Grassy Waters Elementary. We have also assisted budding musicians such as George Rodriguez and Amanda Leduc.
Our next major goal is to assist the Southbridge High School in furnishing their new Music Department with instruments and other musical necessities. Southbridge, MA held a very special place in Stephan's heart. This was his favorite place to visit each summer. In fact, one of his lifelong goals was to live in this town as his parents were born and raised in this beautiful northern city.
We are pleased to announce that the benefactors for "An Evening for Stephan" are Richard and Cathy Gervasi, the owners of IDEAL POOLS INC. Their personal and business funds have enabled us to hold this event each and every year. It is sure to be a magical night in which we not only honor our son Stephan but we will also be given the opportunity to touch the lives of many young musicians located in the United States. The event will spotlight an array of Oldies Music and Classic Videos from the past. We are confident that Stephan would be honored to see so many people come out and give back to others in his name. We hope that you will consider attending this awesome event. On this website we have provided some treasured photographs of Stephan so that you can see firsthand what a charming young man he was and how easy it was to fall in love with our precious son.
